Our Story

No Sugar Coating T1D didn't start as a store.

It started with a little boy who wanted to share his story.

After Elias was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, we began sharing our family's journey on social media to help others better understand what life with T1D really looks like.

Then Elias came to me with another idea.

He asked if we could create our own diabetes shirts and stickers together.

His very first idea became our very first design: More Than a Number.

When you live with Type 1 Diabetes, so much of life revolves around numbers. Blood sugar readings. Carbs. Insulin doses. A1Cs. Time in range. But those numbers never tell the whole story, and they never define the person behind them.

That was Elias' inspiration for More Than a Number. While it was created with Type 1 Diabetes in mind, we believe the message reaches far beyond diabetes. Every person is more than a number.

As we launch No Sugar Coating T1D, More Than a Number is where our story begins. We already have lots of new ideas—many inspired by Elias, and a few I've added along the way. Our hope is to create designs that make people smile, start conversations, and spread awareness for Type 1 Diabetes.
